STRATEGIC DIVERSITY

Diversity as a strategic organizational initiative is being embraced more and more by enlightened leadership and management in today’s competitive environment. Each organization has its own distinct character and its own diversity issues. Therefore, while each diversity initiative may have similarities with others, it also produces some share of surprises and unique insights. Our experience at Response Group working with clients and other practitioners, we consult and advise organizations on the best strategic approach to managing diversity within their organizational systems and cultures.

The new definition of diversity includes the traditional categories of race and gender. In addition, it includes people with disabilities, gays and lesbians, and other non-traditional categories. One of the most interesting categories being used in many organizations today is “diversity of thought.” The principle is obtained by hiring individuals with different types of college degrees, affiliations, and social economic/educational backgrounds. Response Group works with clients who believe this principal offers a wider creative range for diversity initiatives within their organizational culture.
